Connor Essam departs

After 3 seasons and 108 starts for the club, Connor Essam will leave Dartford FC.

Connor Essam has released this statement about his departure:

‘It’s been an incredibly tough decision, but unfortunately my time at Dartford FC has come to an end. The added travelling in the National League South, along with my growing work commitments and the recent arrival of our first child, means I am unable to give the club the commitment it needs and deserves.

I am so gutted to leave without fulfilling the objective of promotion, but I have to be realistic and prioritise my young family, aswell as my career away from the football pitch.

I have loved every second of my time at Dartford, it’s a fantastic club and I wish them every success moving forward. I have no doubt that under the guidance of Dowse and his management team, the club will be back to where they belong in the very near future.

Thank you for everything and Up the Darts!

Connor’

Connor has been a crucial part of Dartford’s defence over the past 3 seasons and quickly became a favourite with fans.

Dowse had this to say on Connor’s exit: ‘Connor has been a fantastic player for Dartford over the last few seasons. I have only had the pleasure of working with him in the past year, but as well as a good player he is a lovely guy who was always professional and hard working. He will be really missed by us as a group, but we understand his reasons and we know family comes first. Myself and staff from the club had a drink with him last night to wish him and his new young family all the best for the future.’

Everyone at Dartford thanks Connor for his time at the club and wishes him all the best moving forward!
