Dartford Reds 0 vs 4 Dulwich Hamlet – Match Report

Dartford Reds were beaten at home 4-0 by Dulwich Hamlet in their Division “G” clash on Wednesday Afternoon.

It doesn’t take Dulwich long to open the scoring as Drew Auassani wins the ball on the right hand side and cuts it back to Carlos Roman in the middle who finishes well past Reds Keeper, James Town.

Dulwich continue to pressure the Dartford penalty area as once again Auassani as the heart of another move, this time playing in Caio Guimares but his effort goes over the bar. Guimares is then in again, as he works the ball down the left and cuts into the box, but his effort is smartly saved by Town.

Two corners in quick succession for Dulwich, the first see’s Captain, Jay Rich-Baghuelou’s header saved by Town in the Reds goal. However the follow-up corner is whipped in from the left and Javaun Splatt flicks it in past Town, putting Dulwich 2-0 up after only 16 minutes played.

So far, Dartford are yet to get a foothold in the game with the majority of the possession going Dulwich’s way. Dartford’s 1st Half gets even worse as after 24 minutes, Dulwich make it 3-0 as the ball drops to Guimares on the edge of the box and his effort beats Town and nestles in the bottom corner.

Dulwich keep the pressure on with most of the attacks coming down their right with Auassani & Roman at the heart of everything. Auassani see’s two shots in the half deflected behind and Roman see’s another shot saved by Town in the Reds goal.

However just before the Half-Time whistle blows, Dartford manage to break in behind the Dulwich defence as Number 9 connects with a great effort, however it cannons off the bar. The ball then dropped to Dartfords number 10 and his effort sails over the bar. The Reds however go into the break 3-0 down with a lot of work to do against a very good Dulwich side.

The pattern of the 2nd Half is very different to the 1st, with Dulwich deciding to keep hold of possession throughout large periods of the game, waiting for Dartford to put pressure on them. However when Dartford do win possession, they can’t keep a hold of the ball and the away side are almost immediately back in possession again.

Frustration gets the better of Dartford as they give a Free-Kick away on the edge of the box. Then from about 20 yards from the goal, Dulwich’s Guimares’ effort bends into the top right corner and beats James Town, putting Dulwich up 4-0.

After the goal, the 2nd Half fizzles out with Dartford unable to mount any challenge on the Dulwich goal, giving Goalkeeper, Maxwell Williams a comfortable afternoon. Dulwich are content to pass it around and keep possession without any problems and play the game out to a 4-0 win.

It was a day to forget for Dartford Reds as they lose 4-0 to very good Dulwich side and could only muster a few efforts on Goal, the best hitting the woodwork before Half-Time.
