Meet the new teams – Weston-super-Mare

Weston-super-Mare

The Southern Premier South champions spent four seasons away from the National South, claimed their first league title since 1992 and first promotion for twenty years. The Seagulls were flying high from day one going ten games unbeaten, including a 7-0 win over Harrow Borough, before tasting their only defeat in the opening seventeen fixtures. Although they weren’t as prolific in the second half of the season, Weston-super-Mare only lost five matches in the league and had the tightest defence. At home they racked up fifty points, the joint highest with fellow promoted side Truro City and scored more than any other team in the division. Before relegation to the Southern League in 2019, the Seagulls were an ever-present club in the National South since its beginnings fifteen years earlier.
