After Saturday’s trip away to Oxford City, Tony Burman had this to say:
Obviously we were all disappointed with conceding a goal in stoppage time on Saturday. It’s not something that has happened to us too many times this season, and there were one or two things leading up to the goal which I felt we should have done better. I thought defensively throughout the game we were excellent, but the conditions of the pitch and the wind played a major part in the standard of the game for both sides.
We changed our system at half time which to be fair I think worked, and we then went on to force a number of corners and Ryan scored a great goal. At that point I must say I thought we were going to go on and win the game especially when we had a couple of chances to increase our lead.
Although it feels like a loss, it was a well earned point and it also means we haven’t lost two games on the trot. I am delighted with where we are at the moment and how things have gone. We will train tonight and prepare for tomorrow nights game.
I’d like to thank everyone who made the journey to Oxford on Saturday and I hope to see more of you for the local derby at Welling United.
Thanks for your support,
Tony
