Dartford’s Academy team kept up the target of retaining the National League Youth Alliance League Cup with a nail biting penalty shootout win over Brentwood.
Away to Brentwood, Dartford were winning 2-1 courtesy of a trademark Henri Fulton free-kick and a goal from Connor Cox before Brentwood equalised with a minute to goal to make the game 2-2, and setup extra-time.
With a stalemate extra-time time penalties was needed to separate the two teams and decide who would be going through to the quarter finals, to play Halifax.
Up stepped Goalkeeper Sam Murray who made two strong saves to deny Brentwood and send Dartford through on penalties 5-4.
Well done to all the lads that played today. The quarter final will be played at Princes Park with a date to be decided with Halifax.
We will let fans know when the date has been released and be great to have as many darts fans down to support the boys.
