After a fantastic season finishing Dartfords Top Scorer with at time of writing with 22 League goals, Alfie Pavey has been awarded the National League South Player of The Year adding to his Dartford Supporters Player of The Year award too. Alfie who has been in fine form scoring a crucial 5 winning goals including last minute winners spoke about the award
“To win this award is a absolute honour and I’m very proud. To start the season with out having a club, to now being brought back here & turn it around for myself and win this I couldn’t be more proud. It’s been my first full season in the game which I’ve proved myself, After a difficult period of not being in the team showing I’m capable of coming of the bench to go and score 26 goals, which is a massive achievement so I will enjoy this moment & May this continue through my years of playing because I’m still young and still learning and hopefully this is the first of many.
There has been many highlights of the season for me this year on a personal note but picking out 2 will have to be welling away on Boxing Day, to score a goal like that which I never knew I could even do myself was a great feeling.
But the one for me would have to be Hampton & Richmond at home I feel that was a massive turning point for us as a team and the scenes at the end made it all worth it.
Lastly a Massive thank you to my team from the back room staff all the way through to my team mates who deserves this just as much as I do Everyone knows that there’s no success for individuals without a team behind you so this award is for all of us.
Now let’s go finish what we have started!! Up the darts”
Tony was equally as delighted for Alfie adding
“I’m delighted for Alfie to receive National League South Player of The Year award. Alfie has had a great season, and worked very hard on and off the pitch to improve his game scoring some vital goals for the team. I think he can now call himself a number one striker.”
Well done Alfie!
