Dartford Football Club are building up a partnership with local branches of McDonalds in an aim to make more people aware of the benefits of grassroots football within the local community. McDonalds have been supporting the cause for 12 years, showing that they are grateful to the millions of volunteers across the country that enable football to go ahead and give young people the opportunity to play the sport that they love and for fans to be able to watch the sport that they love.
It is through the hard work and dedication of the volunteers at Dartford FC that has helped the club to still be standing today. When the club found themselves with financial problems in the early 1990s it was thanks to the group of supporters who came together to help rebuild it and ensured that they would not lose their local club. The group is now known as the Dartford FC Supporters Association and they continue to help out in any way they can by volunteering their services.
The partnership between the two companies is kicking off this weekend as Dartford FC is giving McDonald’s customers the chance to win a Junior Darts Membership! For two weeks from Saturday 14th March the trays in the Dartford Town Centre branch will hold a competition page in which children can either answer the questions in a quiz or colour in a footballing picture and then use the sheet to gain free entry to a Dartford FC First Team game at Princes Park before the end of the season when accompanied by a paying adult. All the sheets with either the correct answers or the best colouring in that are collected will be put into a prize draw and the winner will gain a Junior Darts Membership for next season. This allows a child 13 years and under to gain entry to every home league game that Dartford FC play at Princes Park, along with receiving a birthday card signed by all the players and the chance to be a mascot at a game during the season.
McDonalds Dartford are delighted to be able to work with local sporting businesses such as Dartford Football Club. Their team of volunteers that continue to help them is an inspiration to any sporting club and epitomises grassroots football. They look forward to what the future holds between the two businesses.
Dartford FC Commercial Manager Tina Dyson has said ‘I would like to thank Paul and everyone else at McDonalds in the local area for their support at this time. I hope for us to continue working together for many years to come.’
