Dartford progressed to the second round of the London Senior Cup after a one-nil win against Tooting and Mitcham at home at Princes Park.
Dartford continued their winning streak on Tuesday night in a game that was hardly simple.
The Darts faced a long wait for their first goal which came in the 63rd minute by striker Alex Wall. Rodari passed an excellent ball across the face of goal allowing Alex Wall to tap the ball home. A simple goal couldn’t have been sweeter after the Darts had two goals marked as offside prior.
The Darts certainly weren’t short of chances in the first and second half with Tooting and Mitcham goalkeeper Jet Harris keeping them in the game.
Harris produced an excellent save from a Fonkeu chance in the 25th minute. Fonkeu went one on one with the keeper after being played in by Rodari, but Fonkeu hit his strike straight to Harris.
Another save came in the space of a couple of minutes after Harris saved another chance by Fonkeu. Murtagh crossed a strong ball across the box towards Fonkeu who fired it at goal forcing Harris to take the ball to his face to save it.
Tooting and Mitcham saw a goal chalked offside in the 38th minute after Bongurd-Williams chipped the ball into the box toward M’Bongo who drilled the ball past the keeper.
The linesman raised the flag again in the 44th minute, this time for the Darts, from an open goal header by Alex Wall after a strong cross from Rodari.
It only took Tooting and Mitcham five minutes into the second half to make an impact and produce the best chance of the game so far as Bongurd-William curled the ball towards goal but instead struck the crossbar.
Dartford had a second goal removed as offside in the 55th minute as Rodari rounded the goalkeeper and slotted it home, something which stirred controversy as Rodari certainly did not look to be offside.
Alex Wall’s goal seemed to take the energy out of the Tooting and Mitcham squad with few attacking chances being produced.
Dartford now look forward to this weekend where they face St Albans City away in the National League South.
