The Darts would create their first chance of the game shortly after. In the 8th minute, Shauni Griffiths shot from distance, but this effort was wide of the Chatham goal.

The hosts edged the early exchanges and were ahead shortly after. In the 11th minute, a mistake from the Darts saw the ball fall to Chatham winger, Otesha Charles, who poked the ball past the Darts keeper to put the hosts ahead.

The Darts reacted well to going behind and created a couple of good chances midway through the first half. The best of these chances coming in the 26th minute; a great free kick from Chana Hinds found Emily Vaughan inside the Chatham box. The Darts forward connected well with the set piece and headed towards goal, but the chance went just wide of the Chatham goal.

The home side were to double their lead on the stroke of half time. In the 42nd minute, Chatham forward, Darcy Wells, made a smart run to get in behind the Darts defence and finished well to double the hosts advantage.

In the second half, the Darts were trying everything to get back in to this contest. The best chance of the half coming in the 69th minute. A good move from the Darts found Amy Russ down the right. The Darts forward did well to turn the Chatham defender and fire towards goal. The shot just missed the far corner and this was as close as the Darts came all game.

The hosts also continued to create chances throughout the second half. The best of these chances coming late on as in the 88th minute, a shot inside the 18yd box was brilliantly blocked by Beth Powell to prevent the hosts from getting their third goal of the game.
