Darts win on opening day

Ade Azeez and Dan Roberts first competitive goals for the club gave Steve King’s men all three points on opening day. The first goal came just before half-time, as Azeez headed in a Danny Leonard cross.

The away side could of been ahead earlier on in the game as Jake Robinson hit the bar from a header and then forced a save from Michael Johnson in the St Albans goal later on in the half.

Just before the hour mark, St Albans levelled through Tom Bender after the ball fell to the full-back inside the box and he guided it past Dan Wilks in the Dartford goal.

The match was played at a frantic pace throughout with both sides looking to find the winner, and the Darts did that as the ball was flicked on from Essam and Roberts was there to poke home.

Roberts secured the win in added time as the forward run through one on one and and slotted it past Johnson to send all three points back to Kent.
