Following last weekend’s cup success, the Darts were back on the road as we headed to Motspur Park to take on Fulham FC Women.

The Darts began the game brightly and created the first real chance of the game early in the half. In the 2nd minute, Darts midfielder Xayla-Rae Alberts, won the ball deep inside the Fulham half, the effort on goal went just past the post.

Darts went close again minutes later. In the 8th minute, a powerful run from Emily Woodhouse put Shauni Griffiths through on goal. The Darts forward fired an effort goal bound, that was saved well by Fulham keeper, Frankie Gibbs.

The hosts grew into the game as the half went on and nearly went ahead 12 minutes before half time. In the 33rd minute, Fulham forward Ellie Olds looped an effort over the onrushing

Darts keeper, Paris Smith. Luckily for the Darts, the shot had too much on it and ended up over the crossbar to keep the game goalless at half time.

The second half began similarly to the first and Darts nearly went ahead on the hour mark. A fine delivery from Abbey Davies was met by Beth Powell. The Darts midfielder rose highest inside the Fulham box and headed an effort on goal inches past the post.

The hosts went close to getting the opener midway through the half. In the 69th minute, the home side worked the ball well inside the Darts half. A cross from the right found Jade Bradley on the edge of the box. The Fulham forward fired an effort on goal, forcing a smart stop from Darts keeper, Paris Smith.

Fulham went close again four minutes from the end. In the 86th minute, a Fulham free kick caused problems inside the Darts box. The ball fell to a Fulham player inside the box, who fired an effort on goal but Ellie Dolby was in the right place to make a crucial goal line clearance for the Darts.
