Another Sunday, another game and this one saw us begin our campaign in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup. We welcomed Bromley FC to Princes Park, following their reprieve against Hammersmith in the previous round.
We have reached the second-round proper in consecutive seasons and headed into this one looking to do the same.
The first half began very conservatively with both sides trying to impose their gameplan right from the first minute. The home side saw the best of the early chances as in the 8th minute, a cross from Emily Woodhouse found Lizzie Adams on the edge of the box. The shot on goal was saved by the Bromley keeper.
The half continued as it had started until the Darts took the lead in the 30th minute. A cross from Emily Woodhouse found Teni Charles in the 6yd box, who headed home to put us ahead.

The visitors reacted well to going behind and were level in the 34th minute. A route one move from the visitors saw Beth Hull go through on goal, who finished well to equalise for Bromley and ensured the visitors went in level at half time.
The home side began the second half well and were back in front just before the hour mark. Amy Russ’ first effort on goal was saved but the keeper could only parry it back into the striker’s path who volleyed home to put us back ahead.
The home side continued to get the better of the chances and put the game beyond any doubt in the 77th minute. A great team move saw Georgie Davis get in behind the Bromley defence. A great cross across the 6yd box found Ellie Dolby in space, who fired home to put us 3-1 ahead.
Darts got their fourth goal of this cup tie late on. In the 88th minute, a cross from Abbey Davies found Brionne Fowle in space in the box, who headed home to send us through to the next round in emphatic style.
FT Dartford 4-1 Bromley

A tough game against a very well organised Bromley side. A big thank you to all the fans that came out to support us today. Darts go marching on to the next round of the cup!
