Match Report: Millwall Lionesses 0-5 Dartford FC

Following defeat midweek, the Darts were back on the road as we headed to the capital to take on Millwall Lionesses.
We began the game on the front foot and went close early on. In the 2nd minute, Amy Russ’ shot was parried by the Millwall keeper into the path of Brionne Fowle. The Darts midfielder fired an effort towards goal, forcing a good save from the keeper.
We continued to create chances and we got the breakthrough in the 14th minute. A fine effort from Amy Russ, 25yds from goal, flew past the keeper and nestled in the top corner to put us ahead.
Millwall went close to levelling the game five minutes later. In the 19th minute, a free kick from Maisie Joyce came back off the crossbar.
Darts extended the lead midway through the first half. In the 22nd minute, an effort from Brionne Fowle was spilled by the Millwall keeper and the ball fell to Shauni Griffiths. The Darts midfielder poked the ball into the empty net to double our advantage.
Chances were aplenty for the Darts and we made it three before half time. In the 32nd minute, Shauni Griffiths scored her second goal of the game with a fine free kick 25yds from goal to put us three goals to the good at half time.
We began the second half looking for more goals and we extended our lead midway through the half. In the 64th minute, Shauni Griffiths made the most of a mix up in the Millwall defence to fire home to score her third goal of the game.!
Darts sealed all three points with goal number five coming 13 minutes from time. In the 77th minute, from a corner, the ball fell to Emily Vaughan and the Darts striker made no mistake to rifle home from 6yds to top off a fine performance from the league leaders.
