Match Report: Barking Women FC 1-6 Dartford FC

Following last weekend’s 2-1 victory over Sutton Utd, we headed to Essex to take on Barking Women FC. This game marked our final league game on the road this season.
The Darts began the game on the front foot and we went ahead early in the first half. In the 10th minute, Darts midfielder, Emily Woodhouse, got through on goal and poked the ball beyond Barking keeper, Darcie Salmons to give us an early advantage.
We continued to create chances and doubled our lead midway through the half. In the 27th minute, a great through ball from Emily Vaughan put Emily Woodhouse through on goal. The Darts midfielder fired home from close range to score her second goal of the afternoon.
Darts went close to adding a third on the stroke of halftime. In the 48th minute, Amy Russ with a fine run through the Barking defence, shot on goal from the Darts forward went just past the post.
We began the second half similarly to the first and goal number three came our way shortly after the restart. In the 51st minute, Emily Vaughan put Emily Woodhouse through on goal. The Darts midfielder rifled an effort past the keeper to score her first hat-trick for the Darts.
The home side got a goal back on the hour mark. In the 59th minute, a good move from the home side created an opportunity for Portia-Milan Langley Wright. The Barking forward fired home for the hosts to get them back in the game.
The Darts reacted well to conceding and we restored the three goal lead midway through the half. In the 68th minute, Paris Smith put Emily Vaughan through on goal. The Darts forward shot on goal found the far corner for goal number four.
We continued to create good chances and extended our lead further seven minutes from time. Sarah Hill saw an initial effort on goal blocked by Barking keeper, Darcie Salmons. The ball rebounded back into the path of Hill who poked the ball home for our fifth goal of the afternoon.
The visitors capped off a fine performance by scoring a sixth goal four minutes from the end. In the 86th minute, Shauni Griffiths found Emily Vaughan in the Barking box. The Darts forward with a fine finish on the volley to score her second and Darts sixth goal of the game.

Another three points on the road for the Darts. Six goals, three points, a good Sunday all round!
