Dartford 7-1 Oxford City Match Report

Dartford recorded back to back wins in emphatic style hitting Oxford City for seven goals in their National League South game.

Man of the match Warren Mfula grabbed a hat-trick in the second-half whilst Sho-Silva, Della-Verde, Pavey and Noble all got themselves on the score sheet in a dominant first half hour display,

Oxford ended the match with 9 men as Freddie Grant saw red just before half time and Mo Fofana was unfortunately  stretched off with a quarter of an hour to play.

A late consolation goal from Patterson pulled one goal back, for Oxford but by the win was well deserved by Dartford.

The Darts first goal came from a high corner is swung in dangerously, that was attacked by Sho-Silva who lost his man and managed to get enough on the header to guide the ball down and into the roof of the net.

Della Verde soon added a second, who was not closed down just outside the box and fired a low drive out of reach of the keeper into the bottom corner.

A third followed suit, with a Della-Verde corner. Swung in high and Pavey was too strong in the box for his market, and although Hill gets a hand on it, couldn’t keep it out.

Bradbrook couldn’t get enough on his header from a right-sided Della-Verde corner but played the ball out wide to Noble who proceeded to curl an absolute peach from outside the box into the top corner.

Oxford came out for the second half with a renewed attitude and soon after the restart had their reward.

Oxford pulled one back with a well-timed a through ball from Pearce, which found Matt Patterson who finished well past Ibrahim.

Another corner soon produced a 5th though with Mfula clinical to sweep the ball in the back of the net. A Murphy corner was not dealt with by Hill but this allowed Mfula to get in front to deftly guide a header into the net.

Dartford’s sixth followed in quick succession. Della-Verde once again aimed for the head of Sho-Silva in the box who rose highest but his header was knocked onto the head of Mfula who wrong footed Hill to score his second of the afternoon.

Mfula  keen to get his third certainly was in the mood to as he went in search of his hat trick and didn’t have to wait long to get it. Some clever feet in the box allowed him to cut inside and poke the ball past Hill and Henderson rushing back could only direct the goal bound ball home.

A thoroughly decisive performance in what will hopefully be a kickstart for the Darts to go on a winning streak.
