Dartford exited the Kent Senior Cup at the 2nd Round stage, after losing out to EFL outfit Bromley in an entertaining encounter at Hayes Lane.

The much-changed Darts included no fewer than nine Academy players, as well as first starts for Ade Yussuf and Gabe Campbell. Defender, Marc-Anthony Okoye also made his debut after recently signing, while Tyler Christian-Law captained the side in Josh Hill’s absence.

The Ravens edged ahead after nine minutes, when Charlie Paye met an incoming free-kick to head the ball past Jacob Marsden.

The Bromley player was at it again four minutes later, as he headed a corner beyond the Dartford goalkeeper to double the hosts’ lead (13).

Ady Pennock’s side responded well though, first via Gabe Campbell who forced goalkeeper James Batt into a fine save (18), before George Whitefield reached a corner first to head in his first goal of the season (19).

Bromley goalkeeper Batt denied Ade Yussuf twice within four minutes, before Emmanuel Deh headed in a third for the hosts in the 37th minute.

The beginning of the second-half saw Ady Pennock swap Ade Yussuf and Marc-Anthony Okoye with Ashdon Day and Academy player Blu Husthwaite (46). The Dartford boss would then go on to swap Joseph Kpaka with Jeremiah Pinder (68), before introducing another Academy player Luke Mandry for Tyler Christian-Law (78) as the game progressed.

Returning to the action, we find the Ravens dominating the majority of the ball throughout the second forty-five, as they made sure of the result.

George Evans saw his strike tipped onto the crossbar by Jacob Marsden (79), in what was the best opportunity of the second-half.
