The Good, the Bad and the Ugly…

It’s been a hard month to get your head around. It was one which would ended with three straight wins was it not for an incredible fightback from the division’s form side. The new manager won’t be working with a squad low on confidence.

The month’s high point?

The impressive win at Concord Rangers showed fans improvement is being made.

What about the others in September?

Wealdstone are still flying – but Slough were the month’s most impressive with a 100 per cent record. Weymouth, Dorking and Braintree all took ten points from their four matches. Winless September sides Dulwich, Oxford City and Eastbourne will want better.

The Darts star man?

Youngster Cameron Brodie and earned praise and Ryan Hayes has also done well.

From the dug-out:

Caretaker Tony Burman feels confidence is returning to the squad and think the players have it in them to get over the Slough Town set-back in the FA Cup at Blackfield & Langley this weekend.

Attendance check:

Despite a difficult start, the Darts are still the seventh-best backed club in the division. On average, 934 have been at Princes Park every home game.

How do things compare to last September?

Similar. The team also won once in September 2018, taking five points from their four matches.

The red hot strikers right now…

The Golden Boot race is getting interesting. Havant hitman Jonah Ayunga still leads the way with nine but the scoring charts are tight. Second is Wealdstone striker Ross Lafayette with eight while Liam Nash of Hemel Hempstead, Billericay goal king Jake Robinson, Jason Prior of Dorking and St Albans’ Joe Iaciofano all have seven each.

What does October look like?

It’s a huge month in the season, no doubt about it. Once the FA Cup is done and dusted, three important – and winnable – games are scheduled. Trips to struggling Oxford City and Hampton are coming, and a home match with Chippenham.

While we’ve got you, we would love you to….
