MATCH REPORT | Dartford Women 11 – 1 Forresters

Thoughts from the dug out

Well what a weekend. For both the Men and the Women. A 3-0 demolition of Maidstone yesterday followed by a convincing win for us today.

I felt overall we could’ve have scored more and probably should have. However, credit to Tunbridge came here to a big ground a team a couple leagues above them and gave us a good battle.

In my opinion we were poor in the first 15/20 minutes and Tunbridge deservedly took the lead. I felt we were panicking and really didn’t have a hold of the game.

Having said that once we scored our first I don’t think anything was going to stop us today. Missing a couple key players it was great to see players like Becky get a full 90 minutes along with Paris both impressed me and the coaching staff this afternoon.

Second half I felt we dominated, scored 7 goals and I think Kelly had to kick the ball once which shows how well we managed the game. Credit to all the girls who scored to be honest I can’t remember who scored and when they scored. However Kim scored an absolute rocket and Shauni scored a superb Messi like finish taking it round 3/4 players.

Overall really pleased through to the next round of the cup. Special thanks to all 132 who turned up to support each side it really drives us on to succeed here at this football club.

Finally and perhaps most importantly, it was amazing to welcome Barry Bell back to the dug out for the first time this season. Barry’s had to take some time away from the team the last couple of months but it was a delight to have him back with us this afternoon. I’m sure everyone will agree that we’ve missed him and look forward to having him back every week!

Onwards and upwards to Fulham at home next week another tough game but I think we are up for the challenge.

Onwards and upwards!

COME ON YOU DARTS!
