Dartford travelled to Hartsdown Park last night to play against Margate in the Vanarama National League South.
Tony Burman changed his starting eleven once again seeing Ryan Hayes and Keaton Wood start the match, with Andy Pugh and Ellis Brown taking a seat on the bench. Danny Harris started the match up front alongside Duane Ofori-Acheampong with Tom Gardiner returning to right back.
Ronnie Vint was again unavailable for selection due to his wrist cast, however this morning he has been back to the hospital and the cast has been removed. He will be available for selection this Saturday.
Dartford started the game with most of the possession, and a couple of early chances fell to Ofori-Acheampong but the ball skimmed across the goal line with no one there to get their foot to it and score.
Margate went straight back on the attack with a shot from Daniel Akindayini going just wide of the goal. Margate were forced to make an early substitution seeing an injured Alex Osborn limping off to be replaced by Eliott Buchanan, whose best chance fell to him around 28 minutes but again he was broken down by the Dartford defence.
Captain Elliot Bradbrook took his chance moments later driving a low shot from 20 yards out at Gate keeper Lewis Ward, which he saved with ease.
Hayes and Luke Wanadio both had chances with Hayes’ effort being saved and Wanadios chance flying across the goalmouth, again with no Dartford players in the area to get a touch.
The second half again started well for Dartford, but both teams were pressing for that first goal, and Margate had the early chance with Deren Ibrahim coming out of his goal to deny Michael Thalassitis his chance to score.
Tom Wynter managed to get his head to the ball back down the other end which went onto the roof of the net, and from a corner Harris volleyed over the bar. Andy Pugh finally broke the deadlock scoring after Ward had only just half cleared away a shot from Harris.
Shortly after The Darts were awarded a penalty after Harris was tackled down in the box by Yado Mambo, and Bradbrook stepped up to take. He fired to the left of Ward, thus wrapping up the game for Dartford the claim their second away win this season.
