It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of our Honorary Life President, Mike Brett-Smith.
Mike had been associated with the Darts since the early 1950’s and will be remembered by many people as a member of the Supporters Association committee for a number of years as well as Programme Editor in our days at Watling Street. He also contributed to other publications, such as the centenary handbook, The Light at the End of the Tunnel and was co-author of the original club history book published in 1995.
He was one of the founder directors of Dartford FC (1992) Limited and its first Co.Secretary as well as contributing work to the revised and updated history book, Princes Among Men-A history of Dartford Football Club. On retiring as a Director, Mike was given the position of Honorary Life President.
Mike leaves behind his wife Sylvia, children Joanne and Andrew and grandchildren. Our most sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to them all for their loss. A great loss as well to our football club, to which he devoted so much time and effort.
Steve Irving, co-chairman.
