NEW SIGNING | Rowan Liburd

We are pleased to announce the signing of Rowan Liburd. The 27 year old striker joins us on an initial one month loan from Hereford.
Rowan will be available for selection at home to Billericay today.

Background

After spending time within the Chelsea youth set-up as a youngster, the Croydon-born player enjoyed four successful years on a football scholarship in America, playing for Georgia’s Thomas University. Whilst in the USA, Liburd won the prestigious Sun Conference Player of the Year award.

Liburd returned to the UK in 2014 and signed for Billericay Town. Proving an immediate hit, he racked up an impressive 22 goals in just 30 appearances.

His goalscoring exploits attracted the attention of a number of Football League clubs, with Liburd eventually joining Championship side Reading in July 2015 on a two-year deal.

Whilst at the Madejski Stadium, Liburd gained further Football League experience with a loan move to Wycombe Wanderers and after impressing during his initial stay, the loan deal was then extended until the end of the 2015/16 season.

In the summer of 2016, Liburd moved to League 2 Stevenage for an undisclosed five-figure fee, before moving to fellow League 2 outfit Leyton Orient on loan.

2017-18 saw the 6’4” striker spend time on loan at Hemel Hempstead before moving to Guiseley on loan at the tail-end of their National League season.

Four goals in seven appearances made an instant impact at Guiseley, and Liburd then signed a permanent deal with the club – for an undisclosed fee – at the start of last season.

Liburd signed for Hereford United on 29th March last season.
