Following a two week break, Darts were back in FA Cup action as we travelled to west London to face Actonians LFC. We headed into this one looking to reach the 1st Round of the FA Cup in consecutive seasons.

Both sides began the game brightly with chances created at both ends. In the 10th minute, Darts thought they had taken the lead through Shauni Griffiths, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

The hosts were ahead not long after the disallowed goal. In the 13th minute, Actonians Dior Knoor took the ball beyond the Darts keeper and poked the ball home to put the hosts ahead.

Darts reacted well to going behind and created several chances as the half went on. The best of the chances came in the 25th minute, a good move from the Darts put Emily

Vaughan through on goal, but the effort went just over and we were behind at the halfway stage.

The second half began more tentatively than the first. The first real chance came for the hosts in the 63rd minute, an effort from distance tried to catch the Darts No1 out but the effort on goal was wide of the target.

As the half continued, Darts began to gain more confidence and created several good chances searching for the equaliser. In the 67th minute, an effort on goal from Amy Russ forced a good save from the Actonians keeper.

Darts went close again a few minutes later. In the 70th minute, a shot from Beth Powell on the edge of the box forced a superb save from the keeper.

The Darts continued to search for the equaliser, but the hosts scored their second goal in the 78th minute. A swift counter attack from the home side saw Dior Knoor go through on goal to score the second goal of the tie.

In the final stages, Darts continued to try and get back in the tie but it wasn’t to be. The hosts held on to their two goal lead and saw the game out to advance to the next round.
