League sponsors Vanarama have been busy assessing the season so far – and what’s to come!
The Darts’ season so far…
It’s certainly been a mixed bag – out-playing title favourites Havant for long periods, but coming seriously unstuck on the road at Chelmsford City and Wealdstone. The Darts are chasing that first win which would give the club’s season a big kick-start.
From the dugout…
Joint-boss Jamie Coyle says it’s still “very early days” but has called on his team to be harder to score against after Monday’s four-goal defeat at Chelmsford.
Biggest result so far…
Without doubt the 1-1 draw with Havant – a result and performance which gave supporters belief that good things could be ahead once the season settles down.
The promising displays of Luke Allen, the signing from Braintree Town, have been a big plus.
League position: 20th
Home goals for: 2
Away goals for: 1
Home goals against: 2
Away goals against: 8
It’s a trip to Weymouth. This is where ‘football really is a funny old game’ will come into play, right? On Saturday, the Terras put four past Chelmsford, who in turn put four past the Darts on Monday night. If this doesn’t point to a four-goal victory in Dorset for Dartford then we really doesn’t know what does!
Their one to watch….
Weymouth have a few players in great form, but none more so than Josh McQuoid. His hat-trick against Chelmsford means he must be a marked man.
What can fans expect?
With the away form in desperate need of early-season improvement, a gutsy performance. The Darts must be harder to score against on their travels and with Weymouth starting strongly, the players will need to make the most of their extra day’s rest.
