Update: Tony Burman Post Match v Chippenham

Club News

”Once again I think we have played at a difficult away venue, and I felt for long periods of the game especially in the first half going down the slope I was happy with the performance. We still created enough chances but unfortunately they were either saved by the keeper or cleared off the line. Having said that our opponents also had a couple of chances that forced Del into good saves.

I think the most disappointing factor of the game was that if you take the lead away from home you should keep it, our opponents equalised soon after half time and to be fair to the players they once again showed the character to take the lead for a second time. That is when we should lock up shop and manage the game far better than we did, the second goal was just pure sloppy defending although I did feel Elliot was fouled on the edge of the box. In recent games we have defended very well and in all fairness once it went to 2-2 Chippenham could of taken all three points but we seemed to click back into over my dead body mode and defended much better.

At the end of the day we have scored two goals away from home and if you do that we should be taking all three points, once again we come away with just the one and hopefully learn by our mistakes. I would like to thank everyone that made the journey to give the team their support.”
