Update: Tony Burman after Saturday’s defeat at Hungerford

Club News

Tony Burman ”Once again its unfortunate that when we have started a match in a good position at the top of the table, we have managed to lose a game that in my opinion we should of won. I felt we played better than what we did at Poole Town but we got three points in our previous game, I think the players attitude throughout the game was excellent and although we gave away a penalty, other than that defensively we were sound and i cant remember Deren having to make a save throughout the game. Going forward we have created a number of chances in the first half and many more in the second half, unfortunately these chances were not converted into goals but after watching the highlights Alfie’s disallowed goal, it looks very much that the decision on the day has gone against us. In all fairness to the players we have been strong in our finishing throughout the season but on the day it just did not come off for us. We are all disappointed with the result but we are going to get disappointments during the season and its how we react to these situations especially over the coming few months.

I would like to thank the travelling fans for their support on Saturday and like I said we are all disappointed with the result but their is still a long way to go before anything is won or lost in the title race”

We would also like to send our best wishes to Nathan Collier who became a father again in the early hours of Sunday morning. Mother and baby are all doing well.
