Upcoming MatchWingate & Finchley V Dartford/January 18, 2025/The Maurice Rebak Stadium

UPDATE: Whitehawk 1 – Dartford 0

Last night saw The Darts travel to Whitehawk in their second league match of the 2016/17 Season.

An early penalty for Whitehawk saw them take the lead, and despite many chances and opportunities, Dartford didn’t convert into any goals to equalize and even the score.

It’s been confirmed that Ronnie Vint not only suffered from concussion last night but he has also broken a bone in his wrist from a heavy challenge in last night game.

Duane Ofori-Acheampong has also suffered a hamstring injury which subsequently forced both players to be subbed at half time.

Tony Burman said of the game “Obviously its bad news for us with both Ronnie and Duane suffering injuries in the first half. Added to the injury of Elliot Bradbrook from Saturday, it’s obviously a major blow to the squad. I felt the players performed well throughout, and I also thought the players deserve a lot of credit for the way that they played; I cannot believe that we didn’t get something from the game. The penalty decision after 4 minutes was from a long ball which Tom Wynter misjudged in which the bounce unfortunately hit him on the hand was unfortunate. I felt we recovered form that and in all fairness created some chances which probably should have been converted. I think the sending off was simply a bit on inexperience on Keaton’s part, but at the same time the cross came over and he was challenging their goalkeeper to try and get a header in to score a goal. Kicking up the slope of the pitch in the second half with 10 men I felt that we could still have come away with something from the game, and like I said I think the players deserve a lot of credit for the effort that they put in. What is disappointing was that we created chances and had enough restarts from free kicks and corners to try and get an equaliser. Points wise it’s a disappointing start, but there was a hell of a lot of positives to take out of the game form my team’s point of view.”

We will keep you updated on the player injuries in due course when we know any further information.
