Supporter Graham Sullivan offers league sponsors Vanarama a personal take – there’s a lot to look forward to!
So we are creeping closer to the half-way stage of the season already – what do you make of what you have seen so far?
Better now than what it was, that’s for sure. Since Steve King has taken over there’s a whole new air of confidence flowing through the club. We needed that and there are positive vibes.
What’s the main difference?
The football. Better to watch, players are getting on the ball and you can see a spirit is developing. It’s a hard league as everyone knows but we look like we are getting to grips with it.
But what does 2020 hold?
More wins, sounds obvious. We haven’t won enough games this calendar year and too many dropped points have seen us off the pace. The new manager is clearly preparing for next season already and I believe that’s a very good stance.
If you can wrap up one Christmas gift for your manager, what would it be?
He’s a snazzy dresser, so something from Hugo Boss!
Pick your National League South title winner:
Wealdstone or Havant. Wealdstone have the points on the board and the momentum but Havant probably have a better team. It’s between them.
The Christmas and New Year calendar – love it or hate it?
Love it. Especially the local games. I don’t go away for Christmas so it’s the best time of the year for a football supporter like myself.
Who is your Player of 2019?
Ronnie Vint for me over the whole year. He always gives 110 per cent in every game.
Your most memorable away day so far this season?
Probably Eastbourne Borough at the start of November. Steve King’s first win raised our confidence.
When did you first start following your club?
I’m celebrating ten years next year. I go with my family and have always tried to attend as many away games as I can, usually five or six every season but this season I hope to get to ten weather being well.
What makes the club so special?
The
ground is one of the best in the division and it’s also very friendly – never a spot of bother from anyone even when results aren’t going well! There’s a community feel at Dartford and I love being a part of the family.
